Gopher Football vs. New Mexico State To Be Aired via Tape Delay on FSN

Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

This is the best you are going to get if you can only watch Saturday's game on TV.

The University of Minnesota Athletic Department announced today that its Sept. 7, 2013, football game vs. New Mexico State will be shown twice via tape delay on Fox Sports North following the Saturday game in Las Cruces, N.M. The first tape delay airing is at 10 a.m. (CDT) Sunday, Sept. 8, while the second is Monday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. (CDT).

The game can also be viewed live on home computers and mobile devices by using BTN2Go, which is an app run by the Big Ten Network. The game will also be broadcast live locally on KFAN-AM and can also be heard for free on GopherSports.com.

"While not an ideal situation, we are pleased that fans who may not listen to the game on the radio or watch it through BTN2Go can still watch it on television at some point," said Chris Werle, Minnesota Senior Associate Director of Athletics. "We do not control the rights to away games, but we do everything we can to ensure our fans have every opportunity to see us play on as many screens as possible."

BTN2Go is a viable option for many but it is kind of embarrassing that this game cannot be seen live in the home market of a Big Ten team.  I get that TV rights, especially for away games, are out of the University's control to a certain extent.  But this sucks for Gopher fans who want to watch their team move to 2-0.
