A hat tip those who already noted this in the comments of the last football post, but for those who haven't been watching the comments or the Gopher Twitters in the last 12 hours, it is now official that Jamel Harbison is transferring from Minnesota.
Iama miss all my homeboys and the relationships that I've built on and off the field good luck to the gophers next year

It looks like Harbison is transferring to Mars Hill University in North Carolina (D-II school). This move doesn't affect the current WR production of the Gophers (Harbison didn't have any catches in 2013), but there was always hope that he would develop into the big time WR that everyone thought he'd be after signing with the Gophers as a 3*/4* recruit in 2012.
Some quick reaction tweets from around that Gopher interwebs:
Hard to believe Harbison is gone from #Gophers after only 2 years. Staff gushed about him just 15 months ago as a major recruiting steal.

Jamel Harbison transfer won't hurt #Gophers much. But they've had no luck at WR last couple years http://t.co/lzN4U6kZ1d

I think I know what's going on with our WRs. Has anyone seen Jerry Kill and the Phantom of the Opera at the same place at the same time?

If you want to see something really scary, look back at every WR recruited since Eric Decker.

It's approaching AIRBHG territory of injury/malcontent/horseshit luck.

Okay, guys, I just did some sit ups, I'm ready to walk on at WR for the Gophers.

No receiver sets. Tight end eligible offensive linemen. Run Golden-I every play. I've seen the future!

I can get behind this last one.
My thoughts? Simple, like I said above Jamel hadn't done much on the field for the Gophers. Ton of promise, no current production. I'm not glad he's leaving because the optimist in me always wants a kid who signs at Minnesota to succeed here, but I wish him nothing but the best. Sometimes things don't work out, but he's handling the transfer well:
"@Chappy240: @jamel_duce thanks for being a gopher #SkiUMah pic.twitter.com/GK5qYyByyk" thank you for the opportunity
— Jamel Harbison (@jamel_duce) January 16, 2014
Good luck to you Jamel. Go Gophers!
