College Football Week 9 How To Watch: TV Schedule, Game Times, Channel Listing

Because you can never watch too much college football!

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Week 9 is here! That means most teams have already played (or will have played) half of their conference schedule. It's a time to cement your standing in the table. Time for contenders to take another step forward and pretenders to drop out of sight. And for the Gophers it's time to avoid an unexpected upset and move to 4-0 in the Big Ten for the first time since 1967.

The Gophers play Illinois at 11am on ESPNU. What other games are worth checking out during commercials? Honestly? None of them. I don't see any interesting early matchups that make me want to flip around. I suppose Maryland at Wisconsin because maybe Maryland can play the role of Gopher friendly spoiler two weeks in a row?

The afternoon slot isn't much better. After multiple weeks of matchups between top ranked teams, the best game in the afternoon time slot is probably Michigan-Michigan State. Not because it will be a good game in actuality. Rather, it's a chance to watch Michigan State make Michigan look foolish and Brady Hoke to look clueless. I suspect that will be plenty enjoyable.

The night slot is the best, with Ole Miss heading to Death Valley to play LSU at 6pm CT. There's also a decent looking late game featuring USC at Utah (9pm CT on Fox Sports 1). If you can stay up for that USC/Utah game you should. The Pac-12 seems to be putting on some exciting games in the late night kickoff slot.

All times in the table are Central Time Zone.

Enjoy your Saturday!
