Last weekend may have been a bye week for the Gopher Football team but it was a busy weekend for all of the non-revs! Unfortunately the Gopher teams had some mix results last weekend and I’ve had a busy week this week, so this won’t go into as much depth as I would like.
Going into last weekend the Gophers were ranked #18 with a 11-2 (B1G 1-1) record.
Game 1: 10/1/2014 @ #16 Illinois
The Gophers loss this game in 3 straight sets but the second set went an amazingly long time (22-25, 30-32, 19-25). Read the official Gophersports recap here.
Game 2: 10/5/2014 @ Northwestern
Like the Illinois game, The Gophers loss this game in 3 straight sets and again the second set to a long time (24-26, 27-29, 20-25). Get revenge Gopher football! Read the official Gophersports recap here.
The Gophers are now at 11-4 (B1G 1-3) and have no plummeted in the rankings to #50. Northwestern has moved up to #22 while Illinois is now #11.
Game 1: Friday, 10/10/2014 vs. #106 Maryland - Sports Pavilion @ 7:00 pm CST
The Gophers should win this game as Maryland is not very good with a 7-8 (B1G 0-4) record. Show up early (6:15 pm to 6:45 pm) to get autographs from Nicole Branagh who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Game 2: Saturday, 10/11/2014 vs. #131 Rutgers - Sports Pavilion @ 7:00 pm CST
Another game the Gophers should win and win big. Rutgers has a 7-10 record (B1G 0-4)
Going into this game the Gophers had a 6-5-0 record.
Game 1: 10/3/2014 vs. #7 Penn State
The Gophers actually did amazingly well in this game holding Penn State scoreless. Unfortuanatly the Gophers scored an "own goal" in the first half to lose the game 1-0. Read the official Gophersports recap here.
Game 2: 10/5/2014 vs. Ohio State
The Gophers scored quickly with a goal at the 11th minute but Ohio State answered with their own goal just 12 minutes later. This game would end in a tie at 1-1. Read the official Gophersports recap here.
The Gophers, now ranked #72, are now at 6-6-1 (B1G 3-3-1) with only 5 games left. Luckily 4 of the 5 games are at home. Penn State has moved up to #6 while Ohio State is now #95.
Game 1: Thursday, 10/9/2014 vs. #76 Nebraska - ELR @ 7:00 pm CST
This should be a good team. Nebraska is behind Minnesota in the standings with a 5-6-2 (B1G 1-4-2) record.
Game 2: Sunday, 10/12/2014 @ #51 Illinois - Sports Pavilion @ 2:00 pm CST
This game will be a challenge and a likely loss. Illinois is in 5th place in the Big Ten with a 9-4-0 (B1G 4-3-0) record.

The Gophers are 3-0 with four games remaining in their fall schedule. A second game against St. Cloud State scheduled for 10/3/2014 (would have been the first game) was canceled due to weather concerns.
No games this weekend. Next game scheduled for 10/17/2014. However, Kari Blank will be inducted into the hall of fame tonight.
The #27 men were off but the #26 women rocked.

Neither the men nor women have not meets this weekend with their next meet on 10/17/2014.
Apparently the women had a great start to their season at home with their "Head of the Mississippi" meet. The Gophers have their next meet this Sunday in Rockford, Illinois at the "Head of the Rock" meet.
