Gopher Basketball Recruiting: Dupree McBrayer Signs Letter of Intent

Scoring guard Dupree McBrayer is the second member of the 2015 Gopher basketball recruiting class to sign his letter of intent.

The second member of the 2015 Gopher basketball recruiting class has signed his letter of intent.  Dupree McBrayer is the scoring guard for this particular class signing at Sunrise Christian Academy earlier this morning.

Besides being a kid with some real offensive potential, McBrayer is known for being a really tough kid and a great teammate.  Most reports say his biggest weakness is that he needs to add strength.

Height: 6'4"
Position: SG
Stars: 3
Ranking: Rivals #135 overall
Other Significant Offers: Auburn, Seton Hall, St. Johns
ESPN Eval: "McBrayer is a late blooming play-maker who started taking his game to entirely new levels in the spring following his senior season. The lefty was best known as a shot-maker throughout his high school career and can still make shots in bunches from beyond the arc, but has added a brand new element of being able to create offense for both himself and his teammates. He's long and smooth off the bounce, able to glide to the rim in the open floor, navigate ball-screens in the half-court, or attack close-outs."

McBrayer is a late bloomer, diamond in the rough, 3-star who has a ton of potential; he'll be a steal.

Amelia Rayno's comments on McBrayer:

The 6-4 combo guard may have been a bit of a late bloomer, but once he blossomed, there was no shortage of attention cast his way. The lefty, ranked 135th nationally per Rivals, is a sharpshooter from New York whose driving game showed a lot of improvement over the summer. If McBrayer can learn to play through contact and finish in traffic, he could be a force instantly.
