Opening Thoughts

Oh look, Iowa has decided to play better before playing Minnesota.Yay.

I honestly don't know what to think about tomorrow. Will Minnesota come out and play from the first whistle on defense and show competence on offense? Or will the defense pull an Illinois game while Mitch has an Andy Dalton like performance (not still bitter about sitting in the cold for that mess last night, nope not at all)? And Iowa...I mean, one week they are getting overpowered by frickin' Maryland (not known as a power team) and then next week they are making Northwestern fans question whether they'll ever be happy again. I don't even know anymore. I have no fear about the weekend though. I have HATE. I have confusion. But no fear.

Let's just say the gnomes aren't sure which Iowa is the real one either. I'm hoping for happy Halloween town Mayor Iowa, the one who is unable to think for himself and sits there chewing gum while AIRBHG tortures Santa, er, a running back.

Keys to the Game:

- Offensive balance. The Gophers won't win without a passing game to keep Iowa honest. The secondary is probably stronger than the run D for Iowa, but we saw what happens when you can't pass against Illinois in the first half.

- No turnovers. We lose the TO battle we lose the game. Without question.
