As a member of the "working media" we get requests to help out other "media" in their articles and pursuits. Then sometimes we get to steal their ideas and content for our own gain. Thus, we bring you the Big Ten Power Poll!
I am a voting member in two power polls this season on other websites. If you want to compare my votes to other "writers" from around the Big Ten, I'm sure they would love a click as well. Check out the Rutgers Blog www.SalSoothsayer and another blog covering the whole conference, www.talking10.com.
Here is the final Regular Season Poll. I will put one more out after the Bowl Games.
Big Ten East
1. Ohio State
No more J T Barrett means this might be your last week up here. Hope you can hold off the Badgers.
2. Michigan State
You won the pew pew Land Grant Trophy. Congrats. Now go win a big bowl game against someone.
3. Maryland
Well...that was embarrassing. But not embarrassing to fall below Rutgers.
4. Rutgers
Thank you for ensuring the Gophers should fall no further than the Holiday Bowl. Enjoy NYC or Dallas.
5. Penn State
Well...at least you get a bowl game? Enjoy NYC or Dallas depending on where Rutgers goes.
6. Michigan
Save Brady!!!!!!!!
7. Indiana
Well at least your trophy case won't be empty all year long...unlike another I state.
Big Ten West
1. Wisconsin
Congrats, you earned it. Hopefully Indy decides to not be as hospitable to you as it has recently..
2. Minnesota
A damn good season. Hello Florida on New Years Day! (Or San Diego in December...but either will work)
3.Nebraska
Oh Bo.....We will miss you Bo....well probably will miss Faux more...
4. Iowa
Lots of empty glass and wood in Iowa City this winter. Better have a good dusting janitor on staff...
5.Illinois
Beckman Stays! Big Ten rejoices! Enjoy Detroit!!!
6. Northwestern
#Stats don't lie....and they say you are staying home this bowl season.
7. Purdue
At least your basketball team is go....oh....sorry.
Overall
In case you are a pre-divisions purist, and want to see how teams stack up overall, here is my overall Top 14:
1. Ohio State NC
2. Michigan State NC
3. Wisconsin NC
4. Minnesota NC
5. Nebraska NC
6. Maryland NC
7. Iowa NC
8. Rutgers +1
9. Illinois +3
10. Penn State +1
11. Michigan -1
12. Northwestern -4
13. Indiana +1
14. Purdue -1
These should all stay the same until after Bowl season. Unless Wisconsin wins in which case they would have to be bumped to #1, and you could argue MSU stays at #2 and OSU goes to #3. All depends on Cardale Jones. Good Luck.
Arguments? Likes? Dislikes? Think I am an idiot? Tell me in the comments. See you again in January...
