Potential Upsets
Here are a couple more upsets that I think are possible.
(3) Iowa State vs (14) North Carolina Central - this would be a pretty big upset but I think there is potential here. Iowa State has three big-time scorers but they will face an NCC team that plays outstanding defense. The Eagles have played a very challenging schedule this year with games against Cincinnati, NC State, Wichita State and Maryland. In addition they have an outstanding scorer of their own in Jeremy Ingram who averages over 20 points per game. Ingram had 27 against Cincy, 29 in the win over NC State and 37 against the Shockers. This one might come down to the fact that the Eagles force a LOT of turnovers and Iowa State is very good at not turning it over.
(5) VCU vs. (12) Stephen F Austin - VCU and Shaka Smart are one of those teams/coaches who you just don't usually pick against, but I think they'll have a nice challenge in Stephen F Austin tonight. The Lumberjacks have four scorers averaging over 12 ppg and five guys who shoot the three at over 35%. Both of these teams apply pressure to force turnovers, both ranking top 5 nationally in Def TO%. Should be an entertaining game and maybe a big upset.
Best Games to Watch
(11) Nebraska vs. (6) Baylor - Big match-up of the two best basketball conferences this year. I'm a little tired (read jealous) of all the attention paid to Nebraska and wouldn't mind seeing them get stomped out of the Tourney. But they aren't Wisconsin or Iowa so I will choose to root for some Big Ten respect here.
Big Ten

Favorite Nick-Name of the Day
These are a couple of the best nicknames in all of college basketball.
- Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns
- Wichita State Shockers
In the past I have found that often one of the first two days is very exciting and the other is full of games that lack any excitement (no OT or buzz-beaters or big upsets). Hopefully this year bucks that trend and today we get another set of outstanding games.
Looking forward to Day 2 of the NCAA Tournament...talk amongst yourselves.
