Gopher baseball entered the Big Ten Tournament as the 4-seed and dropped a 3-2 game to 5-seeded Michigan in yesterday's opener for both teams.
Gopher ace, Alex Crawford pitched well but gave up a 3-run homer in the 7th inning which erased our 2-run lead at the time.
The loss puts the Gophers into the elimination portion of the bracket with a game against Iowa today at 1:00. Minnesota dropped 2 of 3 to Iowa earlier in the year, but have an opportunity to eliminate the Hawks today.
- Alex Crawford earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week last week for his dominating performance against the conference's best team, Indiana.
- Crawford also earned 3rd Team All-Big Ten and freshman catcher, Austin Athmann was a unanimous selection on the All Freshman team.
