Have you seen the Gopher Volleyball team in person at the Pav before? No? You need to rectify this situation. The U would like to help you with that, as Pick Your Packs go on sale today:
Gopher Volleyball is poised for another fantastic season, following trips to the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 in the previous two years under the tutelage of head coach Hugh McCutcheon. The Gophers boast one of the top home court advantages in the country and were third in total attendance last year. Help Pack The Pav this Fall as the Gophers host conference rivals Nebraska, defending national champion Penn State and national runners-up Wisconsin.
New this year is the three-game Pick Your Pack. This is a great way to see three great games, save $10 and reserve the best seats in the Sports Pavilion. Help Pack The Pav this Fall!
What do the packs look like? You choose one game from each of the following groups:
Group 1: Penn State, Nebraska, Wisconsin
Group 2: Tulsa, Milwaukee, Iowa State (all part of the Diet Coke Classic)
Group 3: Louisville, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Maryland, Rutgers, Iowa, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana
That's not a bad list at all. For Group 1 Penn State is the defending National Champion, Nebraska is a strong program historically, and Wisconsin is our rival. In Group 2, both Milwaukee and Iowa State are coming of NCAA Tourney appearances. And in Group 3, Louisville, Ohio State, and Purdue are also coming off seasons that included trips to the NCAA's.
One important change that Gopher Sports would like all fans to know about:
***Starting this season the Sports Pavillon will have all reserved seating for every home match. There will not be General Admission seating. Make sure to purchase your tickets early in order to secure the best seats.
The Volleyball team is one of the most successful programs the U has. They're fun to watch and they have a chance to build on their already formidable home court advantage with your help!
