Golden Gopher Sophomore Simone Kolander (#2 - Forward/Midfielder - Lakeville, MN) was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her outstanding effort this last weekend. She had 2 goals and 5 assists in the Gopher 10-0 win over Stetson University and had the assist on the loan goal in the Gopher's loss to #2 Florida State University. In the loss to FSU, Kolander also had 3 shots on goal. Kolander is the first Gopher to receive the OPotW honor since Katie Thyken (#6 - Senior - Midfielder - Eden Prairie, MN) was awarded the honor on Oct. 28, 2013. Courtney Clem (GK - SR - MSU) and Megan Gelderncik (GK - FR - OSU) where named as the defensive and freshman of the week respectively.

The Gophers have their home opener (3rd game of the season) this Friday (8/29/2014) at 7:00 pm when they take on Marquette University at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie (ERB) Stadium. They have their second home game (4th game of the season) at home on Sunday (8/31/2014) at 1:00 pm when they take on South Dakota State. ERB Stadium is located on the Saint Paul Campus, so go to the Minnesota State Fair and then head to the game! Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students/children/seniors.

The Big Ten announced the TV schedule for Volleyball this year and there are a lot of matches to see! BTN will broadcast 27 matches and BTN Plus will carry at least 82. Additional matches will be shown on ESPN 2/3. It all starts off with Minnesota vs. Louisville this Saturday (7:00 pm) on BTN. The Gophers will also be live on ESPN3 on Saturday, September 27th at 7 pm when they take on Penn State at home with a replay on ESPN 2 the following day at noon. Some games (wildcards) to be broadcast still need to be determined by the Gophers have at least 3 more on BTN:
- Minnesota at Illinois at 6:30 pm on October 1st
- Wisconsin at Minnesota at 6:00 pm on October 15th
- Nebraska at Minnesota, 6:30 pm on October 22nd
The Gophers will announce their streaming service (BTN Plus) schedule later this week.

The Gophers have their home and season opener (1st game of the season, duh) this Friday (8/29/2014) at 7:00 pm when they take on The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame at the Sports Pavilion. They have their second game of the season the next day, Saturday (8/30/2014) when they take on Louisville at 7:00 pm.
But wait, there's more! Both of these games are double headers and are part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge! The Wisconsin Badgers (2013 NCAA Runner Ups) will also be playing at the Sports Pavilion on both days playing at 4:30 pm against Louisville on Friday and at 4:00 pm vs. Notre Dame on Saturday. Best part of this is that your ticket, $5-$15 depending on location, is good for both games held that day. That means could see up to 4 games for as little as $10! Please note, if believe that if you leave the Pavilion, you won't be readmitted without buying another ticket. Also of note, this year there will be assigned seating for all seats (a change from years past).
