3 Keys, 2 Players to Watch, 1 Prediction
Dominate the Ground Game - Run, run and run. The Gophers racked up a ton of rushing yards on San Jose State last year. I don't expect the same kind of stats but we should be able to dominate on the ground. This will control the clock and lead to a big win.
3rd Downs - Make sure our third downs are manageable and put them in longer 3rd downs. Simple right? This one is pretty straight forward. I think we can generate some turnovers if we get them in longer situations.
Pass Protection - I'm not terribly worried about our passing game, particularly today. But pass protection needs to get cleaned up before we hit the Big Ten. I'd like to see some clean pockets for whoever is under center, let's get this fixed before Michigan next week.
OPPOSING PLAYERS TO WATCH
- #15 - WR - Tyler Winston - Maybe the Spartan's best offensive weapon, anxious to watch Eric Murray on him for most of the afternoon.
- #12 - S - Forrest Hightower - Three of the team's nine sacks and a pass breakup.
Gophers dominate and control the clock. We throw only 3 passes all day in the win.
Minnesota - 28
San Jose State - 14
