Week 5. The start of the conference season. What's that you say? Many conferences have been playing for weeks and even the Big Ten had their first game between Rutgers and Penn State last weekend? I say HOGWASH! The conference season begins in week 5. That's how nature intended it and Jim Delany is nothing if not a steward of nature.
Obviously you know the Gophers open their season against the Fighting Hokesters of Michigan, but that's not the only rivalry game being playing in the Big Ten this weekend. Of course I'm speaking about the MOST HATRED RIVALS of all time, Iowa and Purdue. That 11am clash is the another in a long line of hate fests arranged completely by Jim Delany because MONEY MONEY MONEY made it happen.
For other games to watch, I'm calling out Cincinnati at Ohio State at 5pm CT on Big Ten Network. Why? Because my wife is an alum and the OSU fans of Ohio need some painful humbling at the hands of a school they don't even consider to be a younger sibling. Plus the Cincy offense is fun to watch when it's clicking. Here's hoping it's clicking!
As always, a kind soul with more time on his hands than me created this schedule so all times are Eastern, not Central. I'm confident you can do the math.
