Here is how the former Gophers on NFL rosters did in Week 1!

Eric Decker- Wide Receiver New York Jets

Week 1 Opponent: Oakland Raiders

Decker caught five passes for 74 yards as his Jets defeated Oakland 19-14.  Decker was targeted six times by Geno Smoith, and he had a long catch of 24 yards.

Week 2 Opponent: Green Bay Packers

Decker and the Jets will make a trip to Lambeau to play the Packers in their home opener.

Marqueis Gray- Tight End Minnesota Vikings

Week 1 Opponent: St. Louis Rams

Gray was inactive for the game as he is still getting eased into the Vikings system.

Week 2 Opponent: New England Patriots

Tom Brady and New England comes to TCF Bank Stadium as the Vikings have their home away from home opener.

Ra'Shede Hageman- Defensive Tackle Atlanta Falcons

Week 1 Opponent: New Orleans Saints

Hageman played in Atlanta's 37-34 overtime win over the Saints, but did not record any statistics.

Week 2 Opponent: Cincinnati Bengals

The falcons will go to Cincinnati to play the Bengals in another tough game.

Marcus Sherels- Cornerback/ Punt Returner Minnesota Vikings

Week 1 Opponent: St. Louis Rams

Sherels had a quiet day for the Vikings returning only one punt for six yards. He also recorded one tackle on defense.  He missed a bit of time after getting crushed by a St. Louis player who was blocked into him as he awaited a punt, but he did return to the game.

Week 2 Opponent: New England Patriots

Sherels will hopefully see more punts next week against New England if the Viking defense continues to play well.

Matt Spaeth- Tight End Pittsburgh Steelers

Week 1 Opponent: Cleveland Browns

Spaeth played in the Steelers 30-27 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, but did not record any statistics.

Week 2 Opponent: Baltimore Ravens

The Steelers have a short week and will go to Baltimore to play the Ravens on Thursday night.

Brock Vereen- Safety Chicago Bears

Week 1 Opponent: Buffalo Bills

In what appears to be a trend this week, Vereen played in the Bears 23-20 loss in overtime to Buffalo, but did not record any stats.

Week 2 Opponent:

The Bears go to San Francisco and a Sunday Night Football game on NBC against the 49ers.

Tramaine Brock- Cornerback San Francisco 49ers

Week 1 Opponent: Dallas Cowboys

Brock has a good game with three tackles as the 49ers won in Dallas 28-17.

Week 2 Opponent: Chicago Bears

As described above, the Bears open Levi's Stadium in the 49ers home opener.

Check back next Tuesday to see how our  former Gophers did in Week 2,and hopefully it will be more exciting then this week...
