I won't lie, I know virtually nothing about Rutgers and it is possible that I have never actually watched them play a game...like in my entire life. But now I guess they are conference mates and I'll get to know them a little.
Keys to a Gopher Win
Do NOT Take Rutgers Lightly - Yes, the Scarlet Knights are supposed to be the worst team in the Big Ten, but they recently beat Wisconsin and then went to Maryland to only lose by eight. This is not a DII team and if the Gophers don't pull their head out of their...well they will lose again.
Get Our Offense Figured Out - Rutgers is pretty bad offensively ranking 331st nationally in eFG%, and 255th in offensive efficiency. So we are generally pretty good defensively and they suck on offense, but I'd really like to see our offense get some rhythm and efficiency. We seem to have to work so hard for everything, regardless of the opposing defense.
This "should" be a win but the Gophers better not coast into this with the mindset that they'll get their first Big Ten win by showing up. That mindset will lead to their sixth Big Ten loss. Execute, play like you want it and get this win and some confidence.
