Shannon Brooks had an incredible day on Saturday. His 17 carries for 176 yards (10.4 ypc) and 1 TD were one of the best freshman running performances in Minnesota history! His 176 yards was also the best freshman rushing performance since 2003. Shannon's powerful runs and explosive stiff arm created highlights that couldn't be ignored:

The award is the first of what we all hope will be many conference awards for the Gopher freshman. It's also the first B1G Frosh of the Week award for a Minnesota player since Chris Streveler earned one against San Jose State last season.
