The TDG Poem: "Husk"

Welcome, welcome! The weather will be beautiful at TCF Stadium for the game.

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

They toss the husk

They toss their rust

They believe their kingdom is nigh

Yet, the lies ruin their kingdom

Formidable, mighty without question

83 lashes left on the back of Goldy

Chucked the husk into the pit

Arrogance led to the decline

Robes of red that showed a menace

Delusions of grandeur from a champion's past

Windows, doors are meant to shut

Winds shifted, the tide has come to bay

No fear, no dread as we meet on the field

The mighty big red machine has stalled

The husker is merely a husk

Watching everything gold turn to rust
