This is always nice to see:Minneapolis North senior quarterback Tyler Johnson threw for 285 yards, rushed for 186 and scored six touchdowns -- five passing and one rushing -- in the Polars' 54-29 Class A state quarterfinal win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Saturday at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Also good to hear? After the game Johnson reaffirmed his commitment to the Gophers, despite Jerry Kill's retirement from the head coaching position because of health concerns. Johnson said he heard about the news on Wednesday morning when he received a few texts from fellow 2016 commits. "I'm still going to be a Gopher either way," Johnson said. "It's just crazy to me, but I'd like to thank him for recruiting me and giving me a chance to play for the Gophers."
