Another Day, Another Injury: Broken Leg Bone for Gophers' Craig James
Craig James' status for the next few weeks -- if not the season -- is now in doubt after Jerry Kill announced this morning that the cornerback and punt returner suffered a broken bone in his leg. James was on the crutches at the end of the game. The Gophers are in serious trouble next week against Purdue if Damarius Travis and Briean Boddy-Calhoun aren't ready to go.
On an unrelated note, Kill's comments this morning regarding the quarterback situation would suggest that Mitch Leidner will NOT be replaced as starter, at least against Purdue. Sounds more like Kill realized the game was lost and saw it as a chance for Demry Croft to see some action late in the game. I would expect both to see snaps throughout the rest of the season. Chris Streveler now has a permanent home at wide receiver.
