Every week during the NFL Season we will recap how the former Gopher football players who are now in the NFL did each week for their respective teams. Herei s how our former Gophers did in Week 3.
Eric Decker- Wide Receiver New York Jets
Week 4 Opponent: Miami Dolphins
Decker recorded four catches for 46 yards and a TD in the Jets win over Miami in London.
Week 5 Opponent: BYE
Decker will get an extra week to rest his knee with the Jets on their bye week.
MarQueis Gray- Tight End Buffalo Bills
Week 4 Opponent: New York Giants
Gray recorded his first catch of the season on Sunday for two yards in the loss to the Giants....but also broke his arm in the process, and was put on Injured Reserve this week, ending his 2015 season.
Week 5 Opponent: N/A
Gray's injury ended his season....he won't be back until 2016.
Ra'Shede Hageman- Defensive Tackle Atlanta Falcons
Week 4 Opponent: Houston Texans
Hageman had two tackles and a sack in Atlanta's drubbing of Houston.
Week 5 Opponent: Washington
The Falcons are 4-0? Yeah..didn't see this coming. The Washington team comes to town this week it whats should be another win. .
Marcus Sherels- Cornerback/ Punt Returner Minnesota Vikings
Week 4 Opponent: Denver Broncos
Sherels had one punt return for seven yards in the Vikings loss to Denver.
Week 5 Opponent: BYE
The Vikings get a week to rest and recover.
Matt Spaeth- Tight End Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 4 Opponent: Baltimore Ravens
Spaeth did not record any stats in the Steelers OT loss to Baltimore.
Week 5 Opponent: San Diego Chargers
The Steelers head west to San Diego for Monday Night Football.
Brock Vereen- Safety Minnesota Vikings
Vereen was released by the Bears before this week's games, and was signed to the Vikings practice squad. he joins several other former Gophers on NFL Practice Squads.
Tramaine Brock- Cornerback San Francisco 49ers
Week 4 Opponent: Green Bay Packers
Brock recorded two tackles in the loss to the Packers.
Week 5 Opponent: New York Giants
Sunday Night football in NYC.
Maxx Williams - Tight End Baltimore Ravens
Week 4 Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers
Maxx won the battle of former Gopher tight ends, getting his first career NFL start and recording two catches for 17 yards.
Week 5 Opponent: Cleveland Browns
The Ravens get to keep playing division foes as the Browns are next.
Damien Wilson- Linebacker Dallas Cowboys
Week 4 Opponent: New Orleans Saints
Wilson played almost the entire game after an injury to Sean Lee....and the stats looked great. He ended with nine tackles, five of them solo, a half of a sack, and a tackle for loss. The one negative part? That was Wilson getting toasted on CJ Spiller's game winning TD catch for the Saints.
Week 5 Opponent: New England Patriots
Wilson may get a lot more time this week if Lee is still injured and the Cowboys host New England in a big national TV match up on CBS, .
