As a member of the "working media" we get requests to help out other "media" in their articles and pursuits.  Then sometimes we get to steal their ideas and content for our own gain.  Thus, we bring you the Big Ten Power Poll!

I am a voting member in two power polls this season on other websites.  If you want to compare my votes to other "writers" from around the Big Ten, I'm sure they would love a click as well.  Check out the Rutgers Blog www.SalSoothsayer and another blog covering the whole conference, www.talking10.com With out any further delay, I bring you the Week 10 Version, of the Big Ten Power Poll.

Big Ten East

1. Ohio State (Previously #1)

Another week, another easy Buckeye win. But finally....finally this week they get tested again with the Spartans coming to town.

2. Michigan (Previously #2)

Indiana gave Michigan a hell of a time, but they hung on in OT to win.  A trip to Penn State is not a gimmie this week,

3. Michigan State (Previously #3)

Michigan State beat Maryland at home, but didn't exactly look impressive doing it.  All will be forgotten with a big win in the Shoe Saturday.

4. Penn State (Previously #4)

Enjoyed bye week.  Get a tough task in Michigan coming to town this week.

5. Indiana (Previous #5)

The Hoosiers couldn't quite pull off the upset over the Wolverines. They might be the best 0-6 team in the Big Ten ever.  They need to win out to make a bowl, starting with this week at Maryland.

6. Maryland (Previously #6)

Maryland looked ok in East Lansing, but its unsure whether they looked better or MSU looked worse.  It could be a let down game for both teams when Indiana comes to town this weekend.

7. Rutgers (previous #7)

Nebraska had no trouble with the Knights.  They get to pretend they are an SEC team with a non-conference game at Army this weekend.  Yay?

Big Ten West

1. Iowa (Previously #1)

Minnesota couldn't put an end to the #specialseason.  Can Iowa's #mostspecialrival do it this weekend?

2. Wisconsin (Previously #2)

Badgers got a bye.  Big game for #2 in these rankings with Northwestern coming to Camp Randall Saturday.

3.Northwestern (Previously #3)

Purdue made it closer than it needed to be, but the Wildcats pulled it off.  Can they win in Madison to annoy the Badgers?

4. Minnesota (Previously #4)

The Gophers played Iowa close, but couldn't seal the deal once again. Its almost a must win at home against Illinois this week if they want to salvage the season now.

5. Nebraska (Previously #6)

Nebraska is on a bit of a hot streak lately...can they keep it going the rest of the way? The Huskers get a bye week before being the second to last shot and ruining Iowa's special season next Friday.

6. Illinois (previously #6)

The Illini played OSU tough for a quarter...but then remembered they were Illinois. Hopefully they feel the same way about this Saturdays game in TCF.

7. Purdue (previously #6)

Close but not close enough at Northwestern Boilers.  Time to get up for your #mostspecialrival this week and crush Iowa's dreams.

In case you are a pre-divisions purist, and want to see how teams stack up overall, here is my overall Top 14:

1. Ohio State (Previously #1)

2. Iowa (#2)

3. Michigan State (#4)

4. Michigan (#3)

5. Wisconsin (#5)

6. Northwestern (#6)

7. Penn State (#7)

8. Indiana (#11)

9. Minnesota (#8)

10.  Nebraska (#10)

11. Illinois  (#9)

12. Purdue (# 12)

13. Maryland (#13)

14. Rutgers (#14)

The Michigan schools flip flop again, and Indiana moves up, but not a lot of movement either way.  Two huge games in MSU/OSU and NW/WI will shift somethings next week for sure.

Let us know if you think I'm way off...or if you agree
