Great article on Gopher Womens Hockey Freshman Sarah Potomak

The Province newspaper in British Columbia posted a great article this weekend about Gopher Women's Hockey freshman star Sarah Potomak and her sister and Gopher commit Amy. Both sisters have made an impact on Canadian National Teams, and Sarah has made her presence known on the Gophers already this season.

Sarah was the leading scorer for the Gophers through the first eight games of the season, before missing last weekend's series against North Dakota to play for the Canadian National Team at the Four Nations Cup in Sweden. Playing wing on a line with Hannah Brandt and Dani Cameranesi, Potomak led the Gophers in assists. She is currently the youngest player on the Canadian team at the Four Nations Cup at the age of 17, and is the first British Columbia player on the team since 2002.

Amy who is currently slated to enroll at the U in the fall of 2017 has played on the U-18 Canadian National Team in the past, and this weekend will lead the British Columbia squad in the Canadian U-18 National Championships. Not too shabby.

Good luck to both Potomak sisters in their competitions this weekend...well at least personally for Sarah. Hopefully the Canadians will run into a wall when they play the US squad. Hopefully Sarah will be back in the maroon and gold even more improved after this tournament and ready to help the Gophers try and win another national championship!
