I was unable to watch but this is a very disconcerting loss for Gopher basketball. Losing to South Dakota in double OT is one of the worst non-conference losses this program has seen in quite a while. It took a Jordan Murphy put-back to force the first OT. Eric Robertson scored for the Coyotes to force the second overtime and it was USD who put it away at that point.
Defense continues to be a huge problem for this Gopher team as does shooting. South Dakota finished the game making 46.5% of their shots while your Gophers connected on 35% of theirs. All five starters for USD were in double figures led by Kasey Casperbauer's 19.
Jordan Murphy continues to emerge for the Gophers having a breakout game with 19 points and 17 rebounds yesterday on 6/11 shooting. But it wasn't enough and this team should be very concerning for this year. More to come at a later date, but use this as a venting thread.
