Boyd's ridiculous weekend is rewarded.

Travis Boyd keeps winning weekly accolades!

Following a fantastic weekend performance against Ohio State (including a hat trick and four total points on Saturday and the game winner on Friday) Travis Boyd has been named the Big Ten's First Star and the NCAA's Third Star of the week! This was Boyd's first national weekly award and the third B1G honor this season.

Let's go back to the excellent numbers Boyd has posted that the U highlighed in their tweet, because they deserve to be recognized:

.325 - Leads the NCAA in shooting percentage

5 - Tallied 5 points against Ohio State (including his first career hat trick)

6 - Leads Big Ten with 6 game winning goals (good enough for 4th in the NCAA)

7 - Leads Big Ten with 7 power play goals (tied for 4th in the NCAA)

10 - Leads Big Ten goal scorers with 10 goals in conference play

13 - Leads the Gophers with 13 goals (which is also a career high)

20 - Has 20 points in 14 games since returning from injury (yea, his numbers come over a shorter period too)

If the Gophers are going to stay hot down the stretch I expect Boyd will be a big part of it. Here's hoping this isn't the last award winning week for Travis and the Gophers!

HATS OFF TO TRAVIS!
