Ramsey and Brandt named First Team All-Americans!
Four University of Minnesota Women's Hockey Players were named All-Americans by The American Hockey Coaches Association on Thursday night. Senior defenseman Rachel Ramsey and junior center Hannah Brandt were both named First Team All-Americans and sophomore forward Dani Cameranesi and redshirt sophomore defenseman Lee Stecklein were both named Second Team All-Americans!
Ramsey and Brandt were both named First Team All-Americans in 2014 as well. Both players are already on the All-American Mural in Ridder Arena, so no new players will be added to the mural. Both players were previously honored with WCHA Honors, Ramsey was named the WCHA Defensive PLayer of the Year for the second consecutive season, and Brandt was named the WCHA Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Brandt is also one of three finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award which is given to the best women's college hockey player in the nation. The winner of that award will be revealed Saturday morning. Congrats to Rachel, Hannah, Dani and Lee on their honors!
