The Gophers would not be denied today, as they beat Harvard 4-1 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis to win their sixth national title. Harvard played an excellent game, led by goalie Emmerance Maschmeyer. Maschmeyer held the Gophers to a single goal despite multiple excellent chances until late in third period.
The victory gives Minnesota their 3rd national title in 4 seasons, with last season's loss to Clarkson the only break in the streak. Without question this year's seniors have put together one of the most dominant stretches of success that any Gopher sports team has ever seen.
There will be more in-depth coverage from gopherguy05 who is at Ridder, but in the meantime it's time to celebrate!
