The Big Ten Network announced their slate of night football games for the 2015 season on Monday, and it includes a big one for Gopher fans. The "No November Night Game" edict is officially dead as the Gophers will travel to Iowa on November 14th for a prime time game under the lights at Kinnick Stadium for the Battle for Floyd. Iowa really wants to try and win that pig back it appears. If the Gophers can win Floyd for the third season in a row in back to back seasons in what should be a highly anticipated night game, that might be enough for Iowa to finally send Kirk Ferentz packing.
It will be the Gophers first Big Ten night game since they hosted Ohio State at TCF Bank Stadium in 2010. Let's hope this goes a bit better than that one did.
Also notable in the schedule was the lack of any broadcast information for the Gopher's Thursday night opener against presumed #2 TCU. That most likely means that that game is headed for one of ESPN's family of networks.
The rest of the BTN Night Game schedule includes:
Friday September 4th
Kent State at Illinois
Saturday, Sept. 12
South Alabama at Nebraska
Florida International at Indiana
Saturday, Sept. 19
Rutgers at Penn State
Pittsburgh at Iowa
Saturday, September 26
Hawaii at Wisconsin
Ball State at Northwestern
Saturday, October 3
Michigan at Maryland
Saturday, October 10
Michigan State at Rutgers
Saturday, November 14
Minnesota at Iowa
Gophers. Hawkeyes. Floyd. Drunken Iowans. This could be fun...
