Gopher Football Officially Adds Home and Home against Fresno St.
The University of Minnesota officially announced a rumored home and home series against Fresno State in football on Monday. The Gophers will host the Bulldogs on September 8th 2018, and will travel to Fresno on September 9th 2019.
The announcement now means the 2018 Gopher schedule is complete. They will start off the season by hosting New Mexico State on the opening Thursday night before hosting the Bulldogs and Miami Ohio the next two Saturdays. They will then have a bye week before a nine game Big Ten Slate that includes home games against Iowa, Indiana, Purdue and Northwestern, and road games at Maryland, Ohio State, Nebraska, Illinois and Wisconsin. Oof. The Fresno State road game in 2019 is the second non-conference game agreed upon for that season. The Gophers are currently scheduled to open the season in their traditional Thursday opener against South Dakota State, however with the increased effort to avoid FCS schools on the schedule, this could change. The Big Ten schedule in 2019 includes homes games against Illinois, Nebraska, Maryland, Penn State and Wisconsin and road dates at Purdue, Rutgers, Iowa and Northwestern. So what do you think Gopher fans? Do you like the addition of the Bulldogs to the schedule? Not a fan? Let us know in the comments.
