30 Days Until Gopher Football: Chris Wipson

There are only 30 more days to go until Gopher Football begins. Chris Wipson wears number 30 for the Maroon and Gold. He is a redshirt sophomore from Wayzeta High School. A three star recruit out of high school, Wipson played in four games last year, mostly on special teams. Back when he was recruited, Jerry Kill said the following about Wipson,

Wipson is exactly what we want as a football player. He comes out of a great program. He's smart, intelligent. If you're a linebacker coming into our program now, it's great timing. I like everything about him. He's my type of guy. He's a great leader. We had Chris in camp. He ran well, moved well.

Off the field, Wipson was Academic All-Big Ten.
