Gophers' Depth Chart for Sept. 3 Against TCU

20

The Gophers have released their depth chart for the season opener against the Horned Frogs on Thursday night.

Just a few things of note:

- Cody Poock gets the starting nod at middle linebacker over Everett Williams, bringing an end to what was described as a neck-and-neck competition to replace Damien Wilson.

- Josh Campion is at left tackle, with Ben Lauer backing him up. That leaves Connor Mayes at right guard. The rest of the offensive line is as expected. Lauer had a minor surgical procedure on his knee early in camp and the coaches were confident he'd be ready for Thursday, but it appears he'll be coming off the bench if he does appear against TCU.

- Tight ends Duke Anyanwu and Lincoln Plsek are both out for the game, which means Brandon Lingen and Nate Wozniak will start. With Plsek the team's best blocking tight end and Anywanu arguably the most athletic tight end on the roster, this is obviously a bit of an unfortunate setback. But we'll see how Lingen and Wozniak fare. Lingen was the source of much fanfare during camp and the coaches also praised the development of Wozniak.
