Every week during the NFL Season we will recap how the former Gopher football players who are now in the NFL did each week for their respective teams. Herei s how our former Gophers did in Week 2.
Eric Decker- Wide Receiver New York Jets
Week 2 Opponent: Indianapolis Colts
Decker had a really nice game catching eight passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. However, Decker suffered a knee injury in the 4th quarter of the game against the Colts and has an MRI scheduled for Tuesday.
Week 3 Opponent: Philadelphia Eagles
if Decker is healthy enough, he will get to play against what has been a porous Eagles secondary so far.
MarQueis Gray- Tight End Buffalo Bills
Week 2 Opponent: New England Patriots
Gray did not record any stats in the Bills loss to the Patriots.
Week 3 Opponent: Miami Dolphins
The Bills head to Miami for a big AFC East tilt.
Ra'Shede Hageman- Defensive Tackle Atlanta Falcons
Week 2 Opponent: New York Giants
Hageman did not record any stats in the falcons win over the Giants
Week 3 Opponent: Dallas Cowboys
The Falcons head to Big D for a game against the Cowboys
Marcus Sherels- Cornerback/ Punt Returner Minnesota Vikings
Week 2 Opponent: Detroit Lions
Sherels had one tackle and returned three punts for 39 yards in the Vikings win over Detroit.
Week 3 Opponent: San Diego Chargers
The Vikings host San Diego next Sunday at TCF
Matt Spaeth- Tight End Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 2 Opponent: San Francisco 49ers
Spaeth did not record any stats in the Steelers win over the 49ers.
Week 3 Opponent: St. Louis Rams
The Steelers travel to St. Louis to play the Rams.
Brock Vereen- Safety Chicago Bears
Week 2 Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
Vereen did not record any stats in the Bears loss to the Cardinals
Week 3 Opponent: Seattle Seahawks
The Bears will travel to Seattle to be the sacrificial lambs to the 0-2 Seahawks.
Tramaine Brock- Cornerback San Francisco 49ers
Week 2 Opponent: Pittsburgh Steelers
Brock recorded three tackles including one for a loss in the 49ers blowout loss to Pittsburgh.
Week 3 Opponent: Arizona Cardinals
The 49ers will try and bounce back against the Cardinals.
Maxx Williams - Tight End Baltimore Ravens
Week 2 Opponent: Oakland Raiders
Maxx caught one pass for eight yards in the Ravens loss in Oakland.
Week 3 Opponent: Cincinnati Bengals
The Ravens will try and get back on track in the division against the Bengals.
Damien Wilson- Linebacker Dallas Cowboys
Week 2 Opponent: Philadelphia Eagles
Wilson recorded his first two NFL tackles in the Cowboys win over the Eagles
Week 3 Opponent: Atlanta Falcons
The Cowboys get the Falcons in a match-up of former Gophers Wilson and Hageman
Decker again had the best week of the former Gophers....but a few more recorded stats. Lets hope Week 3 is even better!
