3 Keys, 2 Players to Watch, 1 Prediction

Maroon_key_medium Defense, Do Your Thing - It is fun to watch this group and today should be no different. Ohio's offense will be better than Kent State's; which was completely shut down. This is a run-oriented offense that the Gopher front-seven will have to slow down. Expect a couple drives early but the defense will make the necessary adjustments to eventually make live incredibly difficult on the Ohio offense.

Execute - Same as last week...please start executing on the offensive side of the ball. Clean pockets, running backs hit holes hard, receivers catch the ball and Mitch needs to hit them when they are open. Our offense only works when these things are working together and helping each other out. Really need to see a cleaner game by the offense as we head into Big Ten games next weekend Execute what will likely be a rather vanilla playbook.

Maroon_key_mediumPlay With Some Passion - Same as last week again but I've yet to see it. Things are such a struggle for the offense and I feel like if they just made a big play or two, they'd smile, settle down and start playing again rather that playing so tight. Have some fun out there boys.

OPPOSING PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • #7 - RB - Daz'mond Patterson - Team's leading rusher (with second most carries), I'm not sure he's a real key to watch but love that name so I went with it.
  • #93 - DE - Tarell Basham - Great football name again here, Basham leads his team in sacks and could be a player worth watching when you factor in how poorly our offensive line has played this year.

PREDICTION(s)

The offense will likely struggle again today. Frank Solich is heading up the Bobcats and his team will be prepared to play. They'll take away the run and see what happens with the Gopher passing game. Expect early struggles and my prediction is that soon they get into a rhythm and start moving the ball. Today is prettier than the Kent State game with the same end result.

Minnesota - 31
Ohio - 13
