The Gophers had a good night as they won their home opener in Big Ten play at the Sports Pavilion tonight against the Northwestern Wildcats in straight sets going 25-16, 25-23, & 25-21.

Senior Daly Santana led the Gophers with 12 kills and 2 aces. Freshman Samantha Seliger-Swenson had 36 assists. Junior Paige Tapp was the top blocker with 4 blocks. With 16 digs Rosado Dalianliz, the sophmore libero had another good night.

Up next for Minnesota is another home game this Saturday against the #7 Illinois at 7:00 pm. The Fighting Illini, now 11-3 (2-1) where upset in Madison tonight by the #19 Wisconsin Badgers in a 3-1 match (16-25, 21-25, 251-21, 25-22). Wisconsin has now improved to 9-4 (1-2) and will take on Northwestern on Saturday.
