How about some Gopher quick links on a slow Tuesday. I'll lead with the newest Gopher to give a verbal to the football team.
Kobe McCrary is a JUCO running back who wants to add some depth and experience ($) to the Gopher backfield. With the four scholarship backs on the roster being sophomores (2) and redshirt freshmen (2), adding McCrary who will be a junior brings some experience and also adds some size (230 lbs). Star Tribune commitment article can be found here.
- Keanon Cooper is back with the Gophers, this time as a graduate assistant working with the defensive backs.
- Noah Fant is an Iowa commit who is going to visit the Gophers ($). Fant is a TE/DE who would be a very nice addition (and steal) this late in the recruiting game. Stay tuned...
- ESPN takes a high level look at the Gopher recruiting class. Much talk on Snelson who still hasn't officially flipped to somewhere else but it appears likely.
- Big "in-home" visit tonight with coaches visiting Trystan Castillo ($). He is a highly sought after OL recruit who has been committed to Missouri for quite some time. The Gopher staff has connections to Castillo's high school coaching staff and has been working very hard to flip him. An announcement is expected tomorrow. Stay tuned...
- Fuller does a profile piece on Gopher's sophomore guard, Carlie Wagner.
