Yes, the Gopher Basketball team played last night and once again came close to getting their first Big Ten win. But once again it was inability to execute down the stretch and struggles from the free throw line thwarted their shot at upsetting Purdue at home.
11/21 from the free throw line and 1/10 from three point land. Nate Mason had himself a game with 15 points and 12 assists. He is really turning into the team's leader at this point both in terms of consistent production but also vocally.

"I thought the free-throw line really hurt us," Gophers coach Richard Pitino said. "But I was happy with their effort. I'm sounding like a broken record, but they're getting better. We did some good things, but now we have to find a way to close games and get some wins."
