3 Keys, 2 Players to Watch, 1 Prediction

Maroon_key_medium Offensive Line Redemption - After a bad game last week and being called out by their head coach, the offensive line needs to redeem itself today and play well. Once again the opposing run defense is not very impressive and there's an opportunity to run here. But it starts up front with the big boys getting a little bit of push before the backs do the rest. Last week the OL stunk, yet Brooks was able to run at 5 yards per carry and Smith was at 4.5...imaging what they'd do with a hole.

Maroon_key_medium Pressure Hills All Day Long - The terps rank second to last in the Big Ten, giving up 16 sacks this season (and four of their opponents were not very good). I don't particularly fear their rushing attack and when they go back to pass I think a key is going to be pressure on Hills to take pressure off our young secondary.

Maroon_key_medium Penalties, PLEASE? - Just stop with the silly penalties and play a game that relatively clean. We won't got the entire game without penalties, but stop killing your own drives before they ever really get started. On the road and desperate for a win, reducing penalties will go a long way towards helping us get that first B1G win.

OPPOSING PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • #11 - QB - Perry Hills - Nobody in the offense stands out as uber dangerous, I trust our run defense, so lets keep an eye on Hills.
  • #41 - DE/OLB - Jesse Aniebonam - Near the top of the Big Ten in sacks, must account for him.

PREDICTION

I think we hit rock bottom last week and this week we rebound with a win (much like the Northwestern loss followed by a win over Purdue last year). Offensive line plays a little better, we run the ball like crazy and come away with a win.

Minnesota - 27

Maryland - 21
