After Week 10 we are starting to see how things well break down. The next three weeks will end up being a playoff on its own as both the west and east will eliminate teams one by one. Here is how I rank the teams after Week 10.
Big Ten East
#1 Michigan Wolverines (LW #1)
They let Maryland score three points. Shame. In cruise control until the last game of the season. They might beat Iowa by 50.
#2 Ohio State Buckeyes (LW#2)
They are #2, but really they are probably #1b. Nebraska was supposed to be a good team and the Buckeyes just beat them by 59 freaking points. They now get Maryland this week....its going to be just a bloodbath.
#3 Penn State Nittany Lions (LW #3)
Penn State took Iowa out to the woodshed and just demolished them. How Minnesota almost beat this team might be as much of a mystery at the end of the season as how Donald Trump will be our next President. The Nittany Lions go to Indiana in what has to be a bit of a trap game.
#4 Indiana Hoosiers (LW #4)
Indiana barely beat Rutgers. Yeah thats all I got. The rest of the east is pure garbage. Penn State comes to town...can the Hoosiers pull off the upset?
#5 Maryland Terrapins (LW #5)
#5 completely by default. You only lost by 56 to Michigan. Guessing OSU makes it even worse.
#6 Michigan State Spartans (LW #6)
I’ll leave them at 6 because I don’t even know how to judge who is the biggest garbage fire right now. Luckily they will decide for me on Saturday.
#7 Rutgers Scarlet Knights (LW #7)
Same as above, but #7 for this week.
Big Ten West
#1 Wisconsin Badgers (LW #1)
With a win over Northwestern last Saturday, Wisconsin seems to be on their way to Indy unless they drop a shocking game to a very weak opponent...or Minnnesota finally summons the ghost of Rhys Lloyd. I don’t feel confident in any of the three. Illinois is the first...test?
#2 Nebraska Cornhuskers (LW #2)
Nebraska got absolutely destroyed by the Buckeyes...but probably has enough oomph to stay at #2 here after Northwestern’s loss. The Gophers come to town in what is a must win for either team to have any chance of going to Indy.
#3 Northwestern Wildcats (LW #3)
Northwestern played the Badgers tough, but not tough enough to get the win at home. The cats go to Purdue on Saturday in what should be a fairly easy win setting up a huge game against the Gophers the week after.
#4 Minnesota Gophers (LW #4)
The Gophers looked horrific in the first half, but once again pulled it together to beat Purdue. The Gophers are a team thats hard to get a handle on...but we will get a much better idea after Saturday night’s game in Lincoln.
#5 Iowa Hawkeyes (LW # 5)
Iowa’s special season sure seems like a long time ago doesn’t it. Penn State put the boom down last week, and now Michigan gets to put the Hawkeyes out of their misery Saturday night.
#6 Illinois Fighting Illini (LW #7)
A year ago saying Illinois had beaten Michigan State would have gotten tons of national press. Now...just a shrug. Their reward? A trip to Madison. Yeesh.
#7 Purdue Boilermakers (LW #6)
Purdue seems to be decent for 30 minutes. Then the team forgets they have to play the second half too. Guessing we see more of the same against Northwestern.
