Some post-bowl game depth chart news. Redshirt freshman WR Hunter Register announced on Twitter today that he is changing postions to be a defensive back.

Obviously this will be more official when announced by the coaches, but I think a tweet from the player himself is a decent indicator that this is probably happening. Hunter’s switch certainly makes sense from a depth perspective and if he’s looking for playing time the opportunities will be there.
Taking a quick look at his recruiting profiles it definitely looks like he played at least a little DB in high school so the new role won’t be completely foreign. That said, Hunter will need to work hard if he’s going to make an impact in the secondary.
