Just about 15 minutes ago, Gopher Sports announced that Kevin Dorsey, Nate Mason, & Dupree McBrayer have been suspended for tonight's game against Illinois:

Statement from Gopher Men's Basketball Team

The University of Minnesota men’s basketball team announced that Kevin Dorsey, Nate Mason and Dupree McBrayer will not play Sunday night at Illinois after violating team rules.

“With the privilege of being a member of the University of Minnesota basketball program there are expectations and standards to which we hold our student-athletes accountable, and they have failed to do so,” head coach Richard Pitino said.

The University has not disclosed the actions that resulted in the suspension. We at The Daily Gopher will not speculate publicly about the actions that may have brought on the decision. Please note, we're still a family friendly-ish site so if you're going to talk rumors in the comments know that we're going to watch them closely. If anything is confirmed, then we'll talk about it publicly in a post.

Obviously this will have a major impact on the Gophers tonight. They'll be very shorthanded and you'd have to think this probably moves tonight's game from winnable into pretty likely loss. We'll see how the team responds.
