The award is the latest in a storied prep career for the Hopkins standout. Amir Coffey averaged 19.9 points this season for Hopkins. His play (including 19 points in the title game) helped lead the Royals to the Class 4A state championship victory. This was Hopkins' its first state title since 2011 and their 9th overall.
Coffey is a key member of Richard Pitino's latest recruiting class and a player that Gopher fans are certainly excited to see. He's also the son of former Gopher Richard Coffey.
We'd like to congratulate Amir on this well deserved honor!
