Minnesota Baseball: #TBT Pic of the Day

Sorry for the short post today, history job #1 has been busy.

Here is a photograph from a 1937 night game. The baseball team played under the lights on May 14, 1937. Who they played, the outcome, and if this was the first night game in program history are TBD! I'll update this as I find out more.

This game was played against the Wisconsin baseball team (back when they had one). The game was a pitchers duel, pitting the Gophers Kermit Aase (awesome name) vs a Badgers pitcher whom the Minneapolis Tribune described as "chunky" (very lol). Kermit pitched a two hitter but gave up 2 unearned runs in the top of the 9th and Minnesota fell 3-1.

Also noteworthy, how awesome are those jackets?!?
