We all knew Rachel Banham would go quickly in today's WNBA Draft. We now know her destination.
With the 4th pick in the #WDraft16 the @ConnecticutSun select @rachelbanham15 from Minnesota.

This is a well deserved honor for the out-going Gopher. Rachel averaged 28.6 points per game this past season (a Minnesota program record). In conference play she averaged 30.5 ppg. which is a Big Ten record. Rachel tied the NCAA record for most points in a game with 60 against Northwestern this season as well. She was named the consensus Big Ten Player of the Year and a first team All-American by multiple outlets.
Rachel joins a Connecticut Sun team that finished 6th in the Eastern Conference with a 15-19 record last season. She is joined by UConn standout Morgan Tuck, who was drafted right before Rachel with the #3 pick. We're excited for her to continue her amazing play at the next level. Perhaps one day she'll play in Minnesota again as a member of the Lynx.
