Minnesota Football: Chris Streveler To Transfer

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

In news that really shouldn't come as a big shocker, Chris Streveler is transferring.

From Joe Christensen at the Star Tribune...

Heading into spring practice, coach Tracy Claeys said: "The kid works hard and is a good athlete and loves the game of football. I think we can find a place for him. ... Then we will talk after the spring to see how comfortable he is."

Apparently he wasn't comfortable.

Ultimately he'll be looking to land somewhere where he'll get some playing time.  Makes total sense.  He was unlikely to crack the 2-deep at receiver, the position he moved to after it became apparent he was not going to get time at quarterback.  Streveler is quite the athlete and one of the fastest guys on the team, but finding a home for him on the field hasn't worked out here.

Even better for Streveler is that he is on pace to graduate this Spring and will be eligible to play immediately with 2 years of eligibility.  Best of luck to the young man.
