Minnesota CB Eric Murray is headed to the Kansas City Chiefs

HATS OFF to Eric!

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota CB Eric Murray is headed to Kansas City! The first Gophers player off the board, Murray was selected by the Chiefs with the 106th pick in the 4th round.

The 5'11", 199-pound Murray has been a important part of the Minnesota secondary as a 3 year starter at cornerback. Only a two star recruit out of Milwaukee, WI, Eric's skills grew tremendously under the tutelage of Jay Sawvell and he has grown into a strong cover corner that teams avoid throwing at when possible. He is a multiple "All-B1G" award winner (2nd team, 3rd team, and Honorable Mention) and has become a fan favorite because of his physical play.

Getting to know Eric Murray

As a smaller defensive back who isn't the fastest draft pick available, Murray will have to work hard to earn a long term spot in the league. However his intelligence, strong skillset, durability are all things that could help him earn a roster spot this fall. Gopher fans will be following Eric's journey with excitement.

SKI-U-MAH ERIC!
