Everything you need to enjoy Media Days this week.

NCAA Football: Big Ten Media Day Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

Football is officially here (sort of)! The Big Ten Media Days represent the unofficial start to the 2016 season. While the B1G version of this event tends to be a bit more tame than the SEC version, there’s usually at least one good controversy to come out of the proceedings. Combine that with the fact that we’re all starved for real football talk and this event is definitely worth following.

The event will likely have a reserved feeling this year following the news this weekend that Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler were killed in a car accident on Saturday night. As a result, Nebraska Coach Mike Riley and his players will not be at Media Day this year.

Despite that terrible news, there should still be information worth following coming out of Chicago over the next two days. Here is everything you need to follow the B1G Media Days as it kicks off this afternoon and runs through tomorrow:

Schedule (all times ET)

Monday, 1 p.m.: Press conferences for Pat Fitzgerald (Northwestern), Darrell Hazell (Purdue), Chris Ash (Rutgers), James Franklin (Penn State), Tracy Claeys (Minnesota), and Jim Harbaugh (Michigan).

  • Coach press conferences will be broadcast live on BTN and BTN2Go.com

Monday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Coaches and students will visit the BTN set at Media Days for “BTN Live” with Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith.

  • Various portions of the afternoon session will be covered live on BTN2Go.com

Tuesday, 9 a.m.: Press conferences for Lovie Smith (Illinois), Kevin Wilson (Indiana), Mark Dantonio (Michigan State), Paul Chryst (Wisconsin), DJ Durkin (Maryland), Kirk Ferentz (Iowa) and Urban Meyer (Ohio State).

  • Coach press conferences will be broadcast live on BTN and BTN2Go.com

Tuesday, 11:20 a.m.: Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany speaks to the press.

  • Jim Delany’s press conference will be broadcast live on BTN and BTN2Go.com

Tuesday, 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.: BTN Live returns with live coverage of the coaches and their students visiting the set.

  • Various portions of the afternoon session will be covered live on BTN2Go.com

What to expect

  • Tracy Claeys won’t get asked a full allotment of questions as the B1G Media tries to give Jim Harbaugh more time to act like a loud, brash, buffoon.
  • No seriously, that’s all I know for sure. That Minnesota won’t get enough questions and that Jim Harbaugh will act like an idiot at least once.
