I'm going to lead with Gopher Volleyball. The #2 ranked team in the country opens Big Ten play this weekend.
The team is currently 8-1 and will be facing Maryland tonight and #17 Ohio State on Saturday. Their one loss this season came at the hands of Stanford in their second match of the year. But the Big Ten is no picnic with Nebraska ranked #1, the Gophers at #2, Wisconsin #3 along with Purdue, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan State and Michgan all being ranked in the top 25.
Good luck!
- Joe Christensen did a cool profile on Gopher freshman, Antoine Winfield Jr.
- ESPN1500 likes the decision to move Santoso to punter, allowing Carpenter to kick FGs. So far, so good.
- The Denver Post is not very happy that Colorado State Head Coach, Mike Bobo does not allow freshmen to talk with the media.
- A couple links from our brothers at Mountain West Connection. First a preview of the game and then a look at the MWC Power poll. Double spoiler alert...they have the Gophers winning 27-20 and the Rams jumped from 10th to 6th in their power poll.
- Gopher Women's Hoops got a huge commitment yesterday. Marlene Stallings picked up a huge guard commitment from Deja Church who was Michigan's Class A Co-Player of the Year as a junior.
- GopherSports has a nice "get to know..." feature on Gopher women's basketball player, Palma Kaposi.
- The Gopher men offered Minnehaha freshman, Jalen Suggs this week. He is also the starting QB for his football team and will eventually make the decision which sport he'd rather player in college.
