3 Keys, 2 Players to Watch, 1 Prediction
Pressure the Quarterback - Rams have started three different quarterbacks in their three games, this one is a freshman and he had a really good day in his start. His big passing day was against Northern Colorado and I'd like to see what a Big Ten defense can do to fluster him. I think that getting pressure on him early will force some bad throws that lead to turnovers. Note that he can run the ball as well, so pressure with contain.
Stay Healthy - Let's stay healthy can we? Shannon Brooks is likely going to play and hopefully he gets a chance to get some reps under his belt, but please stay healthy. Hopefully all of our clavicles will remain intact. We don't get another bye week so we need to get through this game unscathed as we head to Penn State the following week. This is a big one for us.
Work out the Kinks - once again this is an opportunity to work on the little things. Get execution down, reduce stupid mistakes and get the offense ready before it faces a Big Ten defense. Week one was pretty bad in terms of penalties and poor execution. Week 2 was better, but it was an FCS opponent. A week off and now the final tune-up before B1G games. Get the kinks worked out now please.
OPPOSING PLAYERS TO WATCH
- #15 - QB - Collin Hill - Freshman QB who had a pretty impressive debut. We shall see how he fares at TCF against a B1G defense.
- #33 - LB - Kevin Davis - Senior who is near the top of the Mountain West in tackles, has 3 sacks, 5 TFLs and 2 forced fumbles. He'll need to be accounted for.
Another big win.
