The Star Tribune’s Joe Christensen is reporting that Board of Regents chair Dean Johnson and vice chair David McMillan will meet with university president Eric Kaler, athletic director Mark Coyle, university general counsel Douglas Peterson, and other university leaders to discuss the future of head football coach Tracy Claeys today.

Sources had reported late last week that Claeys and Coyle would meet today to discuss the future of Gopher football, but there have been no reports as to whether or not that meeting will actually happen. According to KSTP’s Doogie Wolfson, it was Johnson who called for this meeting today, not Kaler nor Coyle. So it very well could be that Johnson simply wants clarity from Coyle on how the university plans to proceed in regards to the future of Tracy Claeys.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
