Day by day we are getting closer. 3 weeks from tonight we will be able to watch Gopher basketball in the new season!
The senior from Mali is an energetic spark off the bench for the Gopher frontcourt. Typically playing around 8-10 minutes per game as a reserve big man, Konate comes in giving great defensive effort and rebounds with some tenacity.
Bakary Konate is going to be a key contributor off the bench for the 2017-18 Gophers. Reggie Lynch and Jordan Murphy will be the starters in the frontcourt. And Eric Curry was set to be the guy backing both of them up, eating up a solid 20-25 minutes per game. With Konate contributing around 8-12 minutes of necessary time. But the Curry injury necessitates that Konate will be needed more.
Looking forward to an improved Konate in his senior season and his contributions will be key in some games when Reggie Lynch gets himself into foul trouble.
Just 3 weeks till Gopher hoops!
