The Golden Gophers defeated the Wildcats 29-12 last season at TCF Bank Stadium, but their most recent visit to Evanston in 2015 saw the Gophers leave with their tail between their legs after being shutout 27-0 by Pat Fitzgerald’s crew. Overall, Minnesota has won three of their last four games against Northwestern, who have recovered nicely after starting the season 2-3. The Wildcats have won five straight games, including victories over Iowa and Michigan State, to climb to second in the Big Ten West at 5-2, with an overall record of 7-3.
